Description:
The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all warehouse operations. This includes managing inventory, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining safety standards, and leading the warehouse team to achieve organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
As a member of the Vice-president, Supply Chain’s team, the Operations Manager contributes to the company’s success by:

Oversee and coach the warehouse team in the accuracy and quality of work;

Oversee and plan all warehouse operations including receiving, shipping, order preparation and inventory management;

Communicate strategies, initiatives and policies to all company team members through team meetings to ensure alignment of team members’ work with company objectives and strategy;

Ensure the health and safety of employees in their department and make any necessary corrections/improvements to promote a safe environment, work methods, equipment and behaviours;

Ensure the compliance with federal and provincial laws, Ministry of Transportation rules, OSHA regulations and distribution centre operating policies and procedures;

Participate in the development of new continuous improvement projects (ERP, barcodes, MSDs);

Replace branch managers across the country as required.
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills;

Be proactive, in solution mode and have a positive attitude;

Ability to prioritize and manage by objectives to achieve results;

University degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or Logistics Management;
-
Have a minimum of 5 years of team management experience (in a unionized environment an asset);

Have a minimum of 2 years of distribution and/or packaging experience;

Be mobile for travel across Canada;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French;

Good computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
