Our client is looking for an Underground Geological Technician! This role is based at an underground operation in Northern Ontario, just east of Dubreuilville. This role focuses on supporting ore control, sampling, and geological mapping. The role is hands-on and underground, helping ensure the right material (ore vs. waste) is minded and processed efficiently.

What you will do:
Ore Control & Production Support
-
Help control ore grade in development headings and stopes
-
Monitor mining activities and track material sent to the mill
-
Estimate and manage ore dilution (waste mixed with ore)
Underground Mapping & Sampling
-
Perform face mapping in active headings
-
Sample mineralized zones (chip/channel samples)
-
Conduct geological and structural mapping underground
Quality Control (QA/QC)
-
Inspect muck (blasted material) for ore quality
-
Insert QA/QC tracers to track material
-
Ensure accurate grade control and material classification
Data Collection & Reporting
-
Record and input geological data into systems
-
Prepare daily production/geology reports
-
Communicate findings in production meetings
Planning & Coordination
-
Work with geology, engineering, and mine ops teams
-
Contribute to short-term production planning
-
Provide updates on ore zones and development progress
Health & Safety
-
Follow strict underground safety standards
-
Ensure all work complies with company and regulatory requirements
What you need:

Underground Common Core - client may provide for the right candidate
-
Able to pass a drug & alcohol screening
-
Able to pass a background check
-
Geological Technician Diploma (or equivalent)
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Analytical thinking and attention to detail
Preferred:
-
Experience in underground mining (especially narrow-vein gold)
-
Software skills (e.g., AutoCAD, Datamine)
-
Ontario Underground Common Core certification
Work Conditions:

Underground environment (heat, humidity, confined spaces)

Lifting sample bags/core boxes up to 50 lbs
