Job Summary:
The ABA Therapist provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. The therapist works one-on-one with clients to support communication, social skills, daily living skills, and positive behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized ABA therapy based on each client’s treatment plan.
- Implement behaviour intervention programs under the supervision of a BCBA or qualified supervisor.
- Teach communication, social, academic, and daily living skills.
- Collect accurate data on client progress and behaviours.
- Use positive reinforcement and evidence-based behaviour strategies.
- Support clients in developing independence and reducing challenging behaviours.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, families, teachers, and other team members.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
- Participate in training, supervision, and team meetings.
- Follow all safety, ethical, and professional standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or individuals with autism/developmental disabilities is an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in Behavioural Science, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or a related field is an asset.
- Strong communication, patience, empathy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to complete required ABA training and supervision.
Work Environment:
ABA Therapists may work in clients’ homes, clinics, schools, or community settings. The position may involve working directly with clients for extended periods and supporting their physical, emotional, and developmental needs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 10.0 per week
