Home Instead provides a variety of non-medical services that support seniors in aging with dignity, care, and compassion. We are looking for caregivers who can offer a consistent and ongoing commitment to our clients.
Service Areas
Our clients are located throughout:
- South York Region: Richmond Hill, Vaughan, King, Whitchurch-Stouffville
- Central York Region: Newmarket, Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Holland Landing, Sharon, Cedar Valley, Sanford
- Northern York Region & Surrounding Communities: Georgina, Keswick, Sutton West, Pefferlaw, Mount Albert, Beaverton, Sunderland, Bradford West Gwillimbury
Important Role Expectations
Please review the following carefully, as these are key requirements for this position:
- This is not a guaranteed full-time position. While some caregivers may work full-time hours, shifts are assigned based on client needs and your availability.
- Travel is required — all caregivers must be comfortable traveling home to home within the service areas listed above.
- We are seeking individuals who are flexible with their availability and open to a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- Applicants must be willing to accept shorter shifts (1–3 hours), as these are a regular and essential part of our scheduling needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 care to clients, independently or as part of a care team
- Assist with transfers (including use of mechanical lifts and 2-person assists when required)
- Provide medication reminders
- Support with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, mobility)
- Assist with palliative care as needed
- Maintain clear and timely communication regarding client care and any changes
- Support with light household tasks (laundry, linens, meal preparation, etc.)
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $18.00 (private client rate) - $19.50 (government client rate. Please note you must be a certified PSW to work with Government clients)
We are looking for caregivers who are reliable, adaptable, and willing to support clients across multiple locations and shift types.
