Golden Arrow Industrial Ltd requires a full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic - Journeyman for the Fort McMurray Location. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will work in a fast-paced environment maintaining a fleet of School/White Bus and Motor coaches. To qualify for the Mechanic position, you must be a reliable self-starter with strong interpersonal skills. This is 7 ON/7-OFF rotation with 12 hours per day. Candidates must live in Fort McMurray
Primary Duties:
- Maintenance/repair of motor coaches
- Keep service trucks, support equipment, and tools in clean and safe operating condition
- Ensure the upkeep and appearance of service truck, parking lot area and parts trailer is maintained
- CVSA Inspections
- Respond to breakdowns
- Spring and winter maintenance
- Evaluates all work in progress to ensure repairs are proceeding in a timely fashion and completed with a high degree of accuracy
- Establish and ensure adherence to maintenance schedule
- Manage Mechanics for shop at site for schedules, payroll etc
- Scheduling services, running repairs and DOT paperwork
- Parts ordering and budgeting within company guidelines
- Must have good organization skills and be able to diagnose and trouble shoot issues in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Oversee parts / stockroom inventory and parts ordering
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager
Requirements:
- Journeyman Ticket/Certification with CVIP license
- 3-6 years as a Maintenance Supervisor in the Transportation Industry (School bus and Motor Coach knowledge)
- Must have heavy diesel engine and light duty knowledge, or related industry experience to include processing repair orders, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of service jobs.
- Knowledge of DOT Rules/Regulations
- Ability to oversee and supervise mechanics and delegate work in a manner that best utilizes shop resources and mechanics abilities daily
- Valid Class 1, 2, or 3 Driver's License with airbrake endorsement
