Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers to provide high-quality care to individuals in private home care environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient well-being, excellent communication skills, and experience in senior care or working with individuals with disabilities. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance with daily activities and medical needs. Personal Support Workers are essential team members responsible for delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with dementia or hospice care needs
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare teams for case management purposes
- Assist with transfers and heavy lifting as needed to ensure safety during mobility support
- Engage clients in recreational activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction
Qualifications
- Prior experience in nursing homes, senior care, or home health care is highly preferred
- Knowledge of caregiving practices for individuals with disabilities or dementia
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic patient care procedures
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
