Carmen’s Tea is searching for friendly, energetic team members to join our growing tea house as we are preparing to open our new location! Kitchen Hand & Baker (Full Time) Responsibilities: The Kitchen Hand & Baker is responsible for preparing high-quality baked goods and food items while maintaining food safety standards, kitchen organization, and inventory control, as well as helping out the front of house as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare baked goods, desserts, and light lunch items according to established recipes and standards.
- Prepare and plate items for full English-style afternoon teas.
- Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and portioning of all food products.
- Maintain food safety standards, sanitization procedures, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs.
- Assist with menu development and seasonal food offerings as requested.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to provide exceptional guest experience.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Food Safety Alberta Certification.
- Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED.
- Experience in a professional kitchen or coffee shop is considered an asset.
- Appreciation for tea is considered an asset.
Hours: Workweek will consist of 40 hours, with weekend availability required. Specific schedule to be determined by supervisor.
Compensation: Wage starting at $15.00 an hour, with opportunities for wage increase based on training and experience.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
