Job Description & Summary

A career in Deals Valuation, will provide you with the opportunity to help organisations unlock greater value from existing assets and ongoing capital expenditures as well as new acquisitions, investments, and complex corporate arrangements. We focus on a series of services, such as acquisition and disposal valuation advice including deal pricing and negotiation support, strategic value consulting for improvement of corporate and capital management decisions, financial modelling and value analysis. In short, upon being a member of our team, you will support clients to make profound strategic decisions, better conduct business transactions and decisions, appropriately allocate capital investment, and satisfy regulatory requirements with professional skills and in-depth industry knowledge.


As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Proactively assist in the management of several clients, while reporting to Managers and above
Train and lead staff
Establish effective working relationships directly with clients
Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen
Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand

Supporting the development of cutting-edge technology to help the Valuations team deliver "game changing" insights to our clients your role will include:

Supporting the development and enhancement of in-house developed financial models, business software applications and databases used across a broad range of valuation engagements.
Having the opportunity to develop new solutions from the ground up and have significant input on technical direction.
Liaising and working with the Global Valuations technology team to build, implement and maintain tools that will be used not only in Canada but across the global PwC network.

Additional Requirements & Responsibilities

The following experience is required:
2+ years of work experience in computer science and software development; and
Bachelor degree in computer science, or software engineering.
Develop complex financial models for use on a wide range of Valuations engagements;
Create and upgrade bespoke applications using the .NET framework to integrate and enhance the teams business systems;
Test applications/models and ensuring fixes are appropriately resolved;
Manage, and administer the team’s SQL database systems;
Produce technical and user documentation;
Assist in the evaluation, selection, installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, and support of software applications developed and used within the Valuations practice; and
Engage directly with senior members of our business and clients, solving their business problems and helping them generate value.

You should be able to demonstrate the following technical skills:

Strong Excel skills and a desire to develop these further (i.e. confident in formulae, model building);
Experience of developing applications using the .NET framework (preferably version 4.6 and onwards) with VB.Net/C# and Visual Studio;
Experience developing ASP.NET MVC web applications using entity framework;
Experience of using SQL Server (2008 and later);
Have developed software using cloud services such as Azure, JavaScript (within Google Cloud) and AWS;
Other coding languages such as Python;
Experience using visualization tools such as Power BI/Tableau/QlikView;
Experience using version control systems, preferably Git; and
Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Deployment (CD).

Please note that this role does not support completion of the Canadian CPA designation.
