Toyota Boshoku Canada (TBCA) is seeking a Mold Maker to join our Maintenance team, supporting our injection molding and assembly operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining the Toyota Production System (TPS) by minimizing equipment downtime, improving productivity, supporting new model launches, and performing preventive maintenance on molds and tooling.

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and machine specifications.

Manufacture and repair tooling and components while completing all required documentation accurately and on time.

Perform mold and tooling repairs, preventive maintenance, modifications, and troubleshooting.

Review, update, and maintain tooling drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks).

Operate manual machining equipment, including milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, and related equipment within the scope of experience.

Set up, modify, and grind cutting tools as required.

Plan machining operations by reviewing drawings, sample parts, and specifications to determine the most efficient machining sequence.

Perform precision polishing and finishing to achieve required tooling surface finishes and quality standards.

Measure and inspect finished components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and tolerances.

Maintain and calibrate precision measuring instruments.

Perform routine equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance.

Support engineering changes, continuous improvement initiatives, and new model launch activities.

Troubleshoot tooling and machining issues to minimize production downtime.

Communicate effectively with internal departments and external vendors as required.

Report safety, quality, equipment, and production concerns promptly.

Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.

Provide emergency or on-call support when required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Certified Mold Maker or ToolDie Maker (Red Seal Certification).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Strong troubleshooting skills related to mold repair and tooling.

Basic computer proficiency.

Strong attention to detail with a high level of workmanship.

Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and reasoning skills.

Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently.

Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts when operationally required.

Thorough understanding of and commitment to all safety procedures.

Good understanding of 4S principles.

Must be a current TBCA Maintenance Team Member.

College, university, or technical trades education.
Rotational Shift Schedule
Starting Rate: $45.87/hour
Progression:

$46.65/hour after 6 months
-
$47.43/hour after 1 year
-
$48.99/hour after 2 years
-
$50.60/hour after 3 years
Additional Compensation:

$2.00/hour afternoon shift premium
-
Overtime paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate after 40 hours worked per week
