Residential Energy Efficiency Field Staff

$24 per hour
Education and Qualifications
Interest and experience in energy efficiency considered an asset
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Word, Outlook
2-4 years of experience within the home construction and renovation industries
Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable talking to new people and adjusting communication style as needed; comfortable entering residential homes and speaking over the phone
Strong verbal communication skills in English, strong problem-solving skills
Equipment including cell phone, laptop, and blower door unit will be provided
Sales experience considered an asset
Comfortable completing basic geometry calculations
Ability to work independently, show initiative, detail-oriented, and punctual
Full class driver’s license and clean driving record
Summerhill Group is looking to expand its team with Residential Energy Efficiency Field Staff to promote free energy efficiency upgrades and engage homeowners/tenants and collect energy data in existing homes in various Nunatsiavut communities. As a Residential Energy Efficiency Representative, you will be working independently; therefore being very professional, reliable and possess strong communication, organizational and planning skills are a must.
Someone based out of Nain or Hopedale would be ideal. Two to four years of previous work experience with energy evaluations or residential construction/renovation is essential for this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
Educate customers on energy efficiency upgrades program for Nunatsiavut communities (training will be provided)
Educate customers on energy efficiency and conservation
Collect building envelope data, identifying and recording existing insulation and air sealing characteristics (training and equipment will be provided)
Recruit and register eligible applicants to receive energy-efficient upgrades (air sealing, insulation, etc)
Collect customer data using a mobile device provided
Perform blower door air test (training and equipment will be provided)
Travel may be required
Report to the manager during a weekly phone call
Adhere to all Health and Safety protocols
Work may be indoor and/or outdoor (locations vary)
Move equipment and materials weighing up to 40lbs
