Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in masonry work, including building and repairing structures with bricks, concrete blocks, interlocking, retaining walls and other materials. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects such as new constructions, renovations, restorations, and structural repairs. The Brick Mason will play a vital role in ensuring the durability and aesthetic quality of our projects through precise craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Duties
- Construct, repair, and restore brick, stone, and concrete block structures according to blueprints and schematics
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints to determine project specifications
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently during masonry work
- Mix mortar or grout to appropriate consistency for different applications
- Assist with demolition or removal of old masonry materials during renovation projects
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines are met
- Maintain a clean and organized work site to promote safety and efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in masonry, construction, or related trades with knowledge of bricklaying techniques
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation relevant to masonry work
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with renovation and restoration processes within the construction industry
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when required for large-scale projects
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights when necessary
- Prior experience with blueprint reading is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
