Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Child Youth Care Workers to support children and young adults in a nurturing and structured environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with vulnerable children and youth, and will play a vital role in fostering their development, safety, and well-being. Reporting to the program Supervisors, your core responsibility will be to create a safe and nurturing environment while utilizing your experience with children and youth.
* Shift Work: Sunday to Saturday (8-hour shifts)
* Group Care experience required (0-12 years old) (13-17 years old)
* Post Secondary education in a related field or the equivalent combination and experience
*Clear Police Information Check (with vulnerable sector) and Intervention Record Check (both completed within the last 6 months)
* Experience working with children, youth, and families
* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with staff, persons served, and stakeholders
* Be able to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple tasks and projects while carrying out ongoing responsibilities
* Commitment to confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
* Advanced skills in Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
* Keyboarding skills at 45 wpm
* Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, and attention to detail relating to assigned responsibilities
* Flexible work schedule
Duties
- Provide direct care and supervision for children and youth in various settings, ensuring their safety at all times
- Develop and implement individualized activity plans that promote social, emotional, and cognitive growth
- Assist with daily routines, including meal times, recreational activities, and educational tasks
- Support children with disabilities by adapting activities to meet their specific needs
- Foster a positive environment that encourages learning, independence, and self-esteem
- Collaborate with team members, families, and external professionals to coordinate care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of progress, incidents, and daily activities
- Teach life skills and social skills to promote self-sufficiency and positive behavior
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or youth in educational, recreational, or care settings is preferred
- Experience working with vulnerable children and youth
- Demonstrated ability to teach or facilitate learning activities effectively
- Strong communication skills and patience are essential for success in this role
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields will be considered an asset

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
