A Residential Care Worker provides a homelike environment which is therapeutic and safe. Staff are responsible for providing intensive support and supervision of Adults with complex social, emotional and behavioral needs.
Candidates must have:
- the ability to follow policies, procedures and routines as part of a cohesive team;
- the ability to foster care plan goals - looking for opportunities to teach and coach;
- the ability to communicate clearly and professionally ;
- the ability to respond effectively to behaviors and mental health issues;
- the ability to respond to crisis and de-escalate emotions;
- the ability to perform and collaborate with a staffing team on general housekeeping and meal preparation which contributes to a healthy home;
- proficiency in oral and written communication skills is essential
- Candidates must have work experience in the field and must have Post Secondary Education in the human service field.
