Location: This position is remote and can be located anywhere in Canada or USA.

Scope and Focus:
The Director Talent Development is responsible for the strategic planning and tactical execution of all learning and development activities that support P&T’s 1000-person organization. The Director Talent Development provides strategic plans, develops budgets, staffs, and manages onboarding and professional development programs across P&T designed to drive employee productivity, engagement, and career development. The Director Talent Development is responsible for key stakeholder and partner relationships, escalations, and executive communications.

Complexity:
The Director Talent Development is responsible for managing multiple complex learning programs on time and in budget. Key results include quality product, on time delivery and results-based learning metrics. The candidate is expected to highlight and mitigate risks and work collaboratively to reach consensus when tradeoffs need to be made.

People Management:
The Director Talent Development leads the team that is responsible for all learning and development activities within P&T’s 1000-person organization, including the staffing, hiring, and budgeting for the department. In addition, the Director Talent Development is expected to coach and develop members of the team with focus on performance management and succession planning.

Level of Interaction:
The Director Talent Development will regularly interact with Senior Management and Executives within and outside of the P&T organization. The role may interact with external partners and customers as appropriate. Interactions frequently involve specific skills such as stakeholder management and tradeoff negotiation, influencing leadership and policy making as it relates to developing skills within our P&T organization.

Role

The Director Talent Development is a new role, responsible for training employees within Ceridian’s Product and Technology (P&T) organization, from their initial onboarding through continuous education. The primary responsibility will be to define learning needs for each role and team within the P&T organization and to curate or leverage P&T employees to create learning to meet those needs. This person will provide feedback and guidance on the tools (LMS, Wiki, etc) that support employees desire for learning, making it easy for users to locate content that is maintained and current, non-duplicated and of high-quality. We are looking for someone who can identify, collect, organize, manage and promote learning content to support the needs of a 1000-person organization. This is a critical role in driving consistency and efficiency in our organization, allowing our P&T colleagues to focus on building world-class software solutions.

Responsibilities

Define learning needs for each role and team within the organization and curate or leverage P&T employees to create learning to meet those needs.
Analyze the effectiveness of learning content and tools by observing its usage and evaluating its impact in terms of the organizational benefits.
Evaluate, determine and prioritize the organization’s learning requirements and gaps.
Build a shared mindset and understanding of continuous learning using established change management approaches.
Train P&T colleagues and answer questions on how to utilize the learning systems and assets.
Encourage P&T colleagues to use learning assets and systems to learn effectively and efficiently.
Measure, track and report impacts against defined benchmarks.

Qualifications

Experience with learning tools (LMS, Wiki, etc) to support employees’ desire for learning, making it easy for users to locate content that is maintained and current, non-duplicated and of high-quality.
In depth understanding of learning best practices. Experience providing learning content and tools to support users in various roles and at different skill levels within a global organization.
Ability to transform P&T colleagues’ learning requirements and implement appropriate solutions in the organization.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate through writing and presentations to gain support and acceptance of all stakeholders.
Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer experience.
Technical fluency; comfort leading, discussing or diving deep on technology concepts, options and new opportunities with technical team members.
