Jacobs is seeking an Air Quality Monitoring Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and reporting activities for a network of ambient air quality and meteorological monitoring stations throughout Lambton County. This role offers an opportunity to develop technical expertise in environmental monitoring, data management, regulatory compliance, and field operations while contributing to projects that help improve environmental performance and community health.
Working closely with engineers, scientists, and project managers, you will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of specialized monitoring equipment. You will collect, manage, and validate environmental data, prepare technical documentation, and support environmental monitoring programs in accordance with established quality and safety standards.
This position is primarily field-based and requires regular travel to monitoring locations, with occasional overtime and after-hours support as needed to meet operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, install, calibrate, and maintain ambient air quality and meteorological monitoring equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform routine repairs on analyzers, sensors, data loggers, telemetry systems, and related equipment.
- Collect, validate, audit, and manage environmental monitoring data using specialized software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Prepare field reports, inspection records, and technical documentation in accordance with quality management systems and project requirements.
- Conduct fieldwork safely in a variety of weather conditions and industrial environments.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams regarding technical findings, equipment performance, and monitoring results.
