Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee bakery production operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that manufacturing processes run smoothly, maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation, and lead a team to meet production goals. This role requires strong leadership skills, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with food industry regulations to ensure efficient and safe bakery operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily bakery production activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and sanitation standards
- Coordinate packaging processes to optimize efficiency and minimize waste
- Operate and oversee equipment such as forklifts and other machinery essential for production flow
- Monitor food processing procedures to comply with food safety regulations and company policies
- Lead and motivate team members, providing training on food safety, sanitation, and equipment use
- Conduct regular inspections of the production area to ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of machinery
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate records of production output, safety checks, and equipment maintenance
- Enforce compliance with all food industry standards and manufacturing protocols
Experience
- Previous experience in food processing or manufacturing environments preferred
- Knowledge of packaging processes and forklift operation is a plus
- Familiarity with sanitation procedures and food safety regulations required
- Mechanical knowledge related to bakery equipment is advantageous
- Basic math skills for measurements, inventory counts, and quality control assessments
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced setting
