Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse by handling various tasks related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This position requires a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Load/Unload products on trucks for daily transfers, intercompany and 3rd party
- Assist with Repackaging and bee packing for commercial bee shipment when required
- Assist with picking products for the production team
- Place incoming stock in designated storage areas daily
- Organize and maintain warehouse cleanliness, promote good housekeeping
- Transfer products between warehouses (Wheatley, Leamington, Windsor)
- Assist with receiving shipments (Belgium, Mexico, external carriers)
- Compile and double check all inbound and outbound shipments
- Process production transfers as needed
- Receive POs as needed
- Act as a backup for weekly cycle count or monthly inventory count as required
- Come in on Saturday to load the outdoor bee shipments when required
- Pickup pollen at farms in Ontario (1 – 2 hours’ drive) in the Summer and fall
- Direct third-party truck traffic and keep all traffic lanes clear.
- Forklift truck trained and licensed.
- Support production as needed, label, pre-assembly, palletize
- Attention to detail and quality
- Work in accordance with company Mission Statement, Employee Handbook and Company Procedures
- Maintain a strict code of confidentiality concerning Plant Products business activities and all related affair including but not limited to knowledge specific to Plant Products
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes is an advantage.
- Ability to operate forklifts and reach trucks safely; certification may be required.
- Capability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive attitude towards learning new skills and adapting to changing situations.
