Reporting to the Program Manager of Addictions and Mental Health in Correctional Health Services, this position will act as a member of multidisciplinary teams that provide assessment and treatment services that are evidence and recovery based, aligned with best practice approaches, policy, legislation, and designated standards of practice within the context of an correctional facility. Responsibilities may include evaluation of client’s current mental health, substance use. You will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of mental health diagnosis, suicide assessment, risk management, and treatment principles. This position works closely and collaboratively with internal and community stakeholders, offering consultative services as needed, along with coordination and case management planning and follow-up.
As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Fully registered with Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). Specialized expertise around assessment and therapy with concurrent disorders. Understanding of correctional facilities and population served. Ability to balance numerous demands and complex issues with conflicting priorities.
