Duties
- Create, maintain and adjust production schedules in the MRP/ERP system to meet customer and plant requirements.
- Ensure accuracy of production orders and customer EDI transmissions daily, correcting discrepancies as they arise
- Communicate to internal and customer contacts on scheduling conflicts or non-standard orders
- Verify ERP schedule and modify or reschedule as necessary to accommodate customer and/or plant changes (scheduling of jobs for components, parts and assemblies at work cells); applies working knowledge of inventory management to inform scheduling decisions
- Resolve conflicts with the schedule both internally and externally.
- Manage long range forecasts from customers for changes.
- Manage/control empty bin, tote and packaging inventories.
- Manage/control inventory levels in the plant.
- Manage/control inventory valuation.
- Support shipping activities and assist with material movement using a forklift as required.
- Split time approximately 50/50 between office-based scheduling work and the production floor to stay close to real-time plant conditions.
- Apply critical thinking to resolve day-to-day scheduling and production issues in a manufacturing environment.
- Trigger BOM (Bill of Materials) changes as required to reflect production reality through team members.
- Responsible for Past Due reporting.
- Manage Delivery Performance scores with customers.
- Organize non-standard freight.
Initial Qualifications for Hire:
- College Diploma
- Manufacturing experience and production scheduling exposure, including customer EDI's (Electronic Data Interchange)
- 5 years' experience with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment; working knowledge of inventory management
- Strong computer literacy, including intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables)
- Forklift experience an asset; shipping experience preferred
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Comfortable splitting time evenly between office and production floor
Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
