This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Health Records, the Health Record Clerk is responsible to provide regular clerical functions within the Health Records department. Responsibilities include answering the telephone and responding to routine requests for information from nursing units, other hospitals and doctor’s offices, scanning, assembly, analysis, filing, retrieval and delivery of reports / charts, as well as other assigned health record duties.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of academic Grade XII or equivalent
  • Graduate of a Post-secondary Business or Office Administration program or equivalent plus successful completion of a recognized Medical Terminology course is required
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of Electronic Health Information systems is required
  • Experience with MediTech applications (Medical Record, Admissions, EMR modules) is preferred
  • Demonstrated formal training and working experience using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet) is required. Working knowledge of Access is an asset
  • Recent experience/knowledge of Terminal Digit Filing System is an asset
  • Previous work attendance may be considered
  • Recent experience in a Health Records setting is preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for this position
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work

  • Short assignment, full-time position; 70 hours biweekly
  • Beginning Februrary 16, 2019 for approximately 5 months

Salary Information

Health Records Clerk:
$19.5925 - $21.3666 hourly
