WorkSafeBC’s Law and Policy division is seeking a Senior Counsel and Manager, Administrative Law and Employment Law (Senior Manager, Legal Services) with at least 7 years of experience to join us. The Senior Manager will lead a team of professionals and oversee the written hearing process for prohibited action complaints made under the Workers Compensation Act (“WCA”) related to workplace reprisals for exercising health and safety rights.
WorkSafeBC’s Law and Policy division provides comprehensive legal advice and services to WorkSafeBC through its Legal Services department. The Legal Services department includes a litigation team with a focus on administrative law, human rights law and civil litigation, a team of privacy lawyers, and a team of business lawyers who provide procurement and contract advice on all internal business matters, including information technology, the delivery of health care to workers and internal corporate business matters. Legal Services lawyers provide legal advice that is not only right, but is practical, timely, and includes options for clients to achieve their desired outcome. Your background and experience
- A law degree (LLB or JD)
- A member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia
- A minimum of 7 years of experience practicing administrative law and/or employment law
- Strong and proven leadership, management and/or supervisory experience is preferred

Salary: $172,627- $209,742/annually
