Occupational Health Nurse
Where will you work: Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan
(Between Regina and Moose Jaw along on Highway 1)
HOURS/SCHEDULE
This role is based on-site and will work a modified schedule. Typical schedules fall within standard site office hours Monday through Thursday and working only one Friday every four weeks due to longer workdays.
The Occupational Health Nurse RN position will primarily provide occupational health services to Operations, including Dynatec/Procon as possible. Services include hearing and lung function testing, managing interactions with WCB, providing first aid training, etc. The position will also liaise closely with the Security contractor and assist with workplace injuries as available.
What you’ll do?
Provide initial injury care and follow-up case management to site employees and contractors.
Monitor and provide feedback on all Return-to-Work cases to ensure that returns are managed effectively - interact with WCB claims specialists and Mosaic Disability and Wellness team members.
Support development, implementation and sustainment of psychological and wellness initiatives rolled out by the NAB and Corporate teams.
Clerical - enter illness reports into the NAB medical data base and corporate risk management system.
Review internal medical documents on a prescribed frequency to ensure that they are current and relevant.
Support the process for employees to acquire prescription safety glasses, including invoicing and reimbursement programs.
Schedule and provide Hearing & Lung Function testing and Respiratory Fit testing for employees as per Sask Mine Regulations.
Ensure adequate First Aid and health supplies are maintained in the Health Centre’s. Co-ordinate with Emergency Response Specialist to assist with specialized emergency response training for Mine Rescue and Surface Fire teams.

What you’ll need:
Registered Nurse (preferably with Occupational Health experience and training).
Ability to obtain Spirometry & Audiometric Technician, First Aid/CPR/First Responder/ AED Instructor, Respirator Fit testing certifications, alcohol and drug testing certifications.
Ability to manage areas of accountability with minimal daily direction. Experience handling WCB cases would be an asset.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
