Duties
- Assist with watering and irrigation systems to ensure optimal moisture levels for all plants
- Support planting, pruning, transplanting, and harvesting activities with precision and care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of growing areas, tools, and equipment
- Use hand tools safely and effectively for various gardening tasks
- Monitor plant health regularly, identifying signs of pests or disease and reporting issues promptly
- Help set up and troubleshoot basic mechanical systems related to irrigation or climate control
- Perform heavy lifting of soil bags, plants, or equipment as needed to support daily operations
Experience
- Basic knowledge of horticulture principles and gardening techniques
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and mechanical components is a plus
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measuring soil amendments or adjusting watering schedules
- Prior experience working with plants or in a gardening environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated learners
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Bachelors degree in Agriculture, plant science, environmental engineering, biology, or a closely related horticulture field
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in horticulture, greenhouse operations, or controlled environment agriculture (CEA), preferably in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Background or education in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field.
- Experience with hydroponic or vertical farming systems is an asset.
- Experience with growing, sanitation protocols, and record keeping is an asset.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
- Steel-toe safety footwear required
Work schedule:
- Full-time
- Rotational Shifts: Monday-Friday, Tuesday-Saturday
- Mornings, Days, evenings shifts or night shifts as needed.
- Shift times may vary depending on crop cycles and business requirements.
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
