Creative Coping for Kids (CCK) was developed to meet an identified need to assist children and their mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, or their female guardians who have experienced family violence.
Inspire Community Support Services is currently looking for a candidate to fill a part-time (min. 3 hours/week) Creative Coping for Kids contract position for evening sessions.
Position Title: CREATIVE COPING FOR KIDS FACILITATOR
Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Executive Director
Responsibilities:
- Provide co-facilitator services for the Creative Coping for Kids program as per the terms of the Ministry of Community and Social Services
- Implement psychoeducational intervention based on an evidence-based model
- Organize and facilitate on-going group sessions, as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date files on clients as per Inspire Community Support Services Policies and Procedures manual
- Prepare and complete paperwork relevant to program management
- Attend supervision with the Executive Director, and mandatory Creative Coping for Kids meetings
- Work closely with other Inspire Community Support Services staff to track and measure participant progress and safety
Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational background and/or experience working in a relevant human services field such as social work, criminology, psychology, or social services
- Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to multi-task
- Knowledge regarding, but not limited to partner abuse, child abuse, and the dynamics of violence and abuse
- Competence in group facilitation and educational/curriculum delivery
- Prepared to undergo a criminal record check before the offer of a position can be confirmed
Salary: $20 per hour
