Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Care to support our leadership team in delivering exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing and senior care, with proven skills in team management, patient care, and clinical operations. This role offers an opportunity to lead compassionate care initiatives while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and fostering a positive environment for residents and staff alike.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Care in overseeing daily nursing operations, ensuring high standards of patient care across all departments.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including registered practical nurses, and care aides, to promote professional development and teamwork.
- Coordinate clinical activities such as medication administration, pain management, and patient assessments with accuracy and adherence to medical protocols.
- Facilitate case management processes, including assessments, care planning, and documentation using electronic health record systems
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies related to hospital, nursing home, or assisted living environments.
- Support specialized care programs such as dementia care, pediatrics, or senior care initiatives to meet diverse resident needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that promote resident well-being and independence.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, phlebotomy procedures, and medication protocols to support clinical excellence.
Experience
- Extensive hospital or senior care experience with a strong understanding of care practices.
- Proven supervisory experience managing multidisciplinary healthcare teams within a long-term or assisted living setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in dementia care, pain management, and patient-centered approaches for seniors or pediatric populations.
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems .
- Background in nursing or medical office environments with knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures.
- Prior involvement in case management, home care services, or nursing home operations will strengthen candidacy.
