Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter/Lead Hand to oversee and participate in various construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of building processes. This role involves supervising teams, interpreting schematics, and executing tasks across multiple trades including carpentry, masonry, roofing, and more. The Carpenter/Lead Hand will ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards of quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate construction crews to ensure timely completion of projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings
- Perform or supervise tasks such as framing, concrete forming, rebar installation, siding, roofing, tile laying, and drywall installation
- Operate hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and other construction equipment safely and effectively
- Conduct restoration work including caulking, painting, and general repairs
- Install cabinetry, flooring (including flooring installation), plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and siding
- Estimate materials needed for projects and assist with construction estimating processes
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Provide mentorship to team members on technical skills such as woodworking, masonry, electrical work, plumbing, and heavy lifting techniques
- Assist in project planning and coordinate with clients or project managers as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, roofing, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and heavy equipment
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and project management principles
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively
- Knowledge of safety standards in construction environments
- Nice-to-have skills include experience with cabinetry installation, tile laying, rebar installation, siding installation, electrical or plumbing work, woodworking, restoration projects, or handyman experience
- Valid certifications or licenses related to construction trades are preferred but not mandatory

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
