About the Role
Betrayal Care is hiring an experienced couples therapist to help partners heal from betrayal trauma, including affairs, deception, and the loss of trust that follows. You'll guide couples through one of the hardest chapters of their relationship, using evidence-based, attachment-focused care to rebuild safety, trust, and connection.
This is meaningful, demanding work for a clinician who is both deeply compassionate and highly reliable. A strong candidate is prompt in communication and detail-oriented, the same qualities that help clients feel supported and cared for.
Requirements
- Registered Social Worker (RSW) or Registered Psychologist. Provisional and registered-provisional candidates welcome
- Formal trauma training (completed certification or equivalent advanced training)
- EFCT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy) training is required
- Demonstrated experience treating couples through betrayal trauma, infidelity, and trust rupture
- Prompt, professional written communication and strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidential, compliant clinical documentation
What You'll Do
- Provide individual and couples therapy focused on betrayal trauma, trust repair, and relationship rebuilding
- Build personalized, attachment-informed treatment plans using EFCT and trauma-informed methods
- Create a safe space for honest communication and emotional processing
- Track client progress and adjust treatment as needed
- Educate clients on trauma responses, coping tools, and the healing process
- Keep accurate, confidential records that meet all legal and ethical standards
- Collaborate with other providers when appropriate
- Stay current on research in betrayal trauma and couples therapy
