The Social Worker II provides a range of social work services to patients and their families on an inpatient mental health unit in an acute care setting. Working within the context of patient and family-centered care and multidisciplinary service delivery, the successful applicant will collaborate with a range of other service providers within AHS and the community to provide support and clinical intervention to patients on an in-patient mental health unit. The focus of this position will be with discharge planning and placement to ensure seamless patient care and transition back into the community upon discharge. Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience in Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit; 1-3 years equivalent to full time. Knowledge and experience working diverse ad marginalize populations using an equity, diversity inclusion lens. Knowledge and applications of trauma informed care and applications of harm reduction and risk mitigations approaches. Demonstrates the ability to triage and prioritize work. Engage in ethical problem solving using professional, clinical and organizational ethics and related frame works. Develop and sustain internal and external partnerships and community connections. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, ability to work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team. Work autonomously in high intensity situations, assess and intervene in crisis situations and have the ability to effectively manager conflict situations. Computer literacy skills; Connect Care. Holds valid NVCI and CPR.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years Social Worker experience providing clinical services to addictions and mental health clients. Master’s degree.
