We are currently looking to fill the following position in our Montreal office:

Business Analyst

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for collaborating with senior team members who have deep experience in development, architecture, software testing, and product development. In addition, the features built by this team will be consumed by other teams within the organization. As a result, the ability to work independently and learn quickly on the job are key criteria that will enable success. The focus of the scrum team is on growing the features and APIs related to Claims processing. Experience in Claims processing and Claims Billing would be deeply valuable. Given the widespread impact of this scrum team, the analyst should be familiar with information modeling principles and be focused on how the client, whether business or development, will consume the features.

What you’ll be doing:
Elicit business requirements from the internal and external client, hold requirements gathering meetings where necessary
Analyze the requirements to figure out system needs
Prepare use cases, information models and functional designs, and lead walkthroughs to validate the documentation
Validate that business requirements are satisfied, in particular through collaboration with the QA analysts
Work with Scrum team members to determine implementation trade-offs that improve value and reduce cost while respecting the business requirements
Answer questions raised by business users
Assist with application and user acceptance test plan creation and execution
Provide timely/accurate project status for analysis tasks

What you’ll need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (equivalent work experience may be considered)
Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
Experience building application specifications with UML or other structured approaches
3 - 5 years of experience in application software development/business analysis
Minimum 1-2 years of experience with XML, JSON, Web services, Web APIs
Experience working in a Scrum team
Analytical and critical thinker
Knowledge of insurance or accounting principles an asset
