About the Role:
This role focuses on scheduling and coordinating propane deliveries and bulk fuel drivers, ensuring safety, customer service, and efficiency. You will work closely with drivers, diesel cardlocks, and bulk plants. The ideal candidate will have strong geographical knowledge to optimize route planning and dispatching calls to drivers, along with a deep understanding of truck maintenance and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispatch Planning
- Schedule propane deliveries with efficiency, considering geography to minimize travel time and maximize delivery productivity.
- Manage and coordinate drivers for filling bulk plants and cardlocks with fuel.
- Monitor daily markets and rack pricing reports to plan deliveries.
- Proactively address problems and suggest effective solutions to improve scheduling and delivery efficiency.
Dispatching
- Communicate dispatch details to drivers.
- Manage weekly and monthly haulage volumes.
- Confirm that loads have been successfully delivered.
- Use strong geographical knowledge to efficiently schedule and route deliveries across multiple regions.
- Ensure drivers have all necessary safety equipment and that safety protocols are followed.
Administrative Duties
- Receive, record, and manage inventory information and customer orders.
- Maintain clear and organized records of dispatch schedules, lift plans, and delivery confirmations.
- Manage customer complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily propane delivery schedules with truck drivers and schedule propane loads.
- Schedule diesel loads into cardlock locations.
- Communicate with bulk plants to receive dips and plan diesel, gas, and furnace oil loads.
- Troubleshoot driver systems remotely using TeamViewer or similar software.
- Ensure compliance with B620 standards and maintain truck fleets accordingly.
- Manage outside carriers as needed.
- Assist in scheduling truck maintenance and inspections as needed.
Requirements:
- Strong geographical knowledge to effectively schedule drivers and optimize delivery routes.
- Proficiency in Excel for tracking deliveries, schedules, and maintenance records.
- Knowledge of trucks, truck maintenance, and regulatory requirements, including B620 standards.
- Experience coordinating deliveries and working with drivers.
- Familiarity with remote troubleshooting tools like TeamViewer.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with drivers, brokers, and customers.
- A team player who can provide leadership and support to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the propane delivery industry or a similar field.
- Class 3 license or experience working with Class 3 drivers (a plus, but not required).
- Knowledge of bulk plant operations.
