The Welder is responsible for performing MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding operations to manufacture and repair carbon steel metal components in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications. The Welder ensures that all products meet quality standards while maintaining productivity, safety, and compliance with company policies and quality management systems.
This position requires a high level of workmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate welding equipment and inspection tools in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Welding Operations
- Perform , MIG, and TIG welding operations in accordance with work instructions, welding procedures, and engineering specifications.
- Produce high-quality welds that meet customer, engineering, and company quality standards.
- Set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment to ensure proper weld quality.
- Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, positioning, clamping, and fitting components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
- Weld various types of metals and material thicknesses as required.
- Perform minor repairs and rework of welded components when necessary.
- Examine welded components to detect defects, discontinuities, or dimensional issues.
- Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or production issues to the supervisor.
Quality Control
- Perform daily inspections of parts throughout the production process.
- Verify that completed welds meet dimensional and quality requirements.
- Use precision measuring and inspection equipment, including:
- Vernier calipers
- Micrometers
- Gauges
- Measuring tapes
- Complete inspection records and quality documentation accurately.
- Identify and report non-conforming products according to company procedures.
Production Responsibilities
- Maintain productivity and efficiency in accordance with work order specifications.
- Meet established production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
- Minimize material waste and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work effectively with production team members to meet customer delivery requirements.
Equipment and Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections of welding equipment before use.
- Ensure welding machines and tools are maintained in good working condition.
- Report equipment defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain welding consumables and supplies appropriately.
Health, Safety and Housekeeping
- Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses immediately.
- Handle materials and equipment safely to prevent injury or product damage.
Quality Management Systems
- Maintain compliance with all applicable requirements of:
- IATF 16949:2016
- ISO 9001:2015
- Follow all departmental procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
- Participate in quality improvement and corrective action initiatives as required.
Additional Duties
- Perform other production-related duties as assigned by management.
- Assist in other departments performing similar or new duties as operational requirements dictate.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives.
- Work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and alternate schedules as required by the company.
Qualifications/Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Welding certification or technical training from a recognized institution is considered an asset.
Experience
- Previous experience with, MIG, and TIG welding in a manufacturing environment minimum up to 3 years.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or metal fabrication is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in MIG, and TIG welding processes.
- Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of welding techniques, joint preparation, and material properties.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment, including Vernier calipers and micrometers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and lift throughout the work shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and wrist movements.
- Ability to lift materials in accordance with company safe lifting guidelines.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, welding fumes, sparks, noise, and moving equipment while wearing appropriate PPE.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing and production environment.

- Required use of company-issued personal protective equipment at all times.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
