The Tower Rigger Telecommunication Supervisor is responsible for managing the construction and maintenance of communication towers, installation of various tower components, completing and submitting closeout documentation, conducting practical climbing evaluations, and overseeing the quality and safety of their crew members.
- Lead and direct crew members to install and service communication towers, rooftops, and various site types for major wireless carriers in Canada
- Climb towers to perform the safe installation of steel structures, components, hardware, antenna installation and alignments
- Installation of antenna and transmission line systems on towers, rooftops, and other structures
- Cable termination and splicing
- Read and follow construction drawings or specialized methods of procedures to perform installation or maintenance on equipment or sites
- Read, interpret, and implement RF work orders; implementation to include all connections and labelling on the tower, in the shelter/cabinet, and/or demarcation box
- Understand and operate Anritsu Site Master testing equipment to obtain DTF and VSWR readings
- Configure different types of antenna Remote Electrical Tilt (RET) units and produce results for closeout documentation
- Perform plumb and tensions, both pulse time method and with use of Dillon meters
- Receive and inventory materials for specific projects
- Ensures crew is well informed of working schedule and updated changes
- Provide closeout documentation upon project completion (i.e. redlines, photos, RET readings, VSWR/DTF readings, checklists, etc.), adhering to customer requirements
- Complete and submit daily field report with photos
- Communicate with project managers, foremen and field staff
- Assist with training and development of new and existing field staff
- Comply with CVOR regulations
- Conduct, document and submit detailed daily tailboard safety meetings
- Retain training and develop a strong knowledge of safe rigging practices

Required
- Minimum 4 years of industry experience (i.e. working at heights, tower rigging)
- General construction knowledge
- Experience with major Canadian wireless carriers
- Must be comfortable working at heights
- Reliable and committed to developing skills as a telecom rigger; motivated to learn and grow in the telecommunication industry
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to bend and lift 50 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (able to work closely with others for long periods of time)
- Must be available to travel up to three weeks at a time as needed (longer periods can be expected on occasion)
- Self-leadership qualities fortified with the ability to coach and delegate; maintain a positive attitude, and lead by example
- First Aid with CPR-A + AED
- Expert knowledge of all safety and quality control requirements, fall protection practices, regulations, and procedures for crew
- Valid G driver's license, clean driver’s abstract meeting company policy conditions, and knowledge of CVOR regulations
- Proficient communication, organization, and computer skills (including Microsofrosft)
