The Manager, Retail Network is responsible for managing all retail network changes, both corporate and private. On the corporate side this includes, relocations, realignments, amalgamations, and image up-grades. On the private sector side this includes both opening and closing process for dealerships and ongoing contract management. Furthermore, the Manager will undertake a leadership role in strengthening our retail network, in managing a tailored community approach and outreach in conjunction with the Indigenous and Northern Reconciliation Strategy.
Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Manager, Retail Network – Indigenous and Northern Communities:
Acts as the corporate authority on all retail network change in a given area of responsibility and ensure Indigenous and Northern considerations are included in the decision making process.
Develops the corporate processes, policies, guidelines and procedures that control and manage all retail network change as it pertains to the Indigenous and Northern communities.
Leads regional events through the Community Outreach consultation process, providing support to Regional Retail Network, Local Management, Communications, Parliamentary Relations and Labor Relations.
Responsible for Retail SAP Site Master data (corporate and private), managing day to day changes and evaluating data quality on behalf of all corporate functions.
Responsible for the coordination of retail design, merchandising, operations and other support functions within the Indigenous and Northern communities, with regards to changes being made to retail Post Offices (Corporate and Private) (renovations, upgrades, relocations).
Works in conjunction with the Managers of Retail Support in the Indigenous and Northern communities, to plan, implement and monitor retail network change in each region.
Job Responsibilities (continued)
Works closely with other functions, (Delivery, Communications, Corporate Affairs Indigenous and Northern Affairs, Address Management, Sales and Operations) to make changes to the network, while ensuring all stakeholders are appropriately apprised.
Works in conjunction with Private Sector Development and the Indigenous and Northern communities, to establish new Dealerships (including Nationals) and the execution of the contractors.
Responsible for managing Capital Funding for Image Upgrades.
Responsible for managing the retail portion of the National Facilities Change Program ($4 to 5 million capital per year) in conjunction with Head Office Real Estate and Regional Retail Support.
Responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of the National Accessibility Program ($1.0 million per year).
Establishes a close working relationship with both unions (CUPW and CPAA) to manage change and honor collective agreements.
Completed postsecondary, preferably in a related field OR a combination of equivalent professional experience and training.
3 to 5 years of relevant functional experience.
2 or more years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Métis and Inuit), communities and organizations
Other Candidate Requirements
Designated Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) has lived experience or resides in an Indigenous community is strongly preferred
Strong understanding of Indigenous culture, history, barriers and issues, including the social and economic determinants of health
Experience advocating for underrepresented groups
Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft programs.
Designation and or certifications programs may be required for certain positions (e.g. Finance & Engineering).
(If managing a team) Excellent team building and leadership skills and experience
Sound organizational, analytical, judgement and decision-making skills with proven abilities in problem solving.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships
Strong oral and written communication skills.
