As part of the Scotiabank’s Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC), the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) team is responsible for protecting Scotiabank’s assets and networks globally. This involves 24/7 security monitoring and response of the company’s information processed through joint venture / strategic alliances and third-party arrangements, ensuring that customer information continues to be protected.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of CTI, the CTI Analyst will provide technical expertise and analysis for the proactive and reactive responses to information security threats against Scotiabank. You will analyze and research known indicators, correlate events, identify malicious activity, and discover new sources to provide early warnings related to a variety of cyber threats. In addition, the analyst will define, evaluate, and recommend the software/hardware solutions to improve detection capabilities. As part of the regular research and documentation processes, the analyst will create technical papers documenting security threats, risks and mitigation techniques.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
You possess advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English. The same in Spanish is a strong asset.
You have at least 1 year of hands-on technical working experience in any of the following: network security, information security, network and/or IT support.
You have developed capabilities in prioritizing and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner and provide oversight and training to other less experienced team members.
You have a working knowledge of various network principles, cyber security concepts, investigation procedures, and adversary techniques.
You have strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
You are proficient in evaluating and sharing Indicators of Compromise (IoCs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) via reports, formal briefs, and threat indicator sharing platforms.
You can review, develop and implement countermeasures across various security controls (IDS,IPS,SIEM, Web Content Filtering, etc.) to identify and detect known threats. (including but not limited to writing signatures, etc.)
You can provide effective communications on situational awareness and technical intelligence to different stakeholders and trusted partners.
You have broad knowledge of common cyber adversaries, attack vectors, intrusion tactics, and attacker tools.
You have experience in analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources, documenting the results and providing meaningful analysis reports and briefings.
Post-secondary education in Computer Science or in a related field.
Certification(s) (e.g. GSEC, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, CompTIA Networking+, ITIL CEH, and OSCP) would be an asset(s).
