Executive House Manager

Hands-on Executive House Manager required for executive style residences located in west Toronto area and Georgian Bay. The House Manager will primarily be responsible for overseeing the operations of the family’s west Toronto property, with support to the Georgian Bay property seasonally, as well as their South Florida property for specific occasions during the off-season.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and contribute to the upkeep of the home, including interior maintenance, and exterior supervision and control.
  • Ability to organize and maintain closets, cupboards, and other storage spaces
  • Manage inventory of household pantries, wares and supplies
  • Food preparation (basic prep through to preparing casual meals)
  • Food and beverage service (casual and formal). Party organization and provision.
  • Manage and update household manuals, procedure lists, event/function records
  • Schedule and manage trades and service providers for home maintenance, repair/renovation work
  • Drive for family members occasionally
  • Manage household vehicles, including daily upkeep and maintenance
  • Answer telephone, take messages, greet visitors and guests
  • Run errands and other duties as required
  • Maintain budget, expenses and records.

Applicant Qualities:

  • Respectful of the procedures and processes established in the home and willingness to take direction
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize a robust task list
  • Solid housekeeping and laundry skills; including experience working with fine finishes, furnishings and clothing
  • Intermediate level of comfort working in a kitchen (essentially a great home-cook)
  • Flexibility with schedule and working hours
  • Service-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills
  • Strong computer and technology skills in a PC environment is an asset
  • Experience with productivity tools (i.e. Word, Excel and Google Calendar) to create lists, daily reports and other documents
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Perform daily start of day and end of day reviews with all staff regarding outstanding tasks.
  • Must exercise complete discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Must be willing and able to travel for overnight stays at the Georgian Bay property on a seasonal basis as needed. Potential for an occasional overnight stay at the principal residence.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; having own vehicle an asset

Salary is commensurate with experience
