Job Statement:
The Yard Associate is responsible for helping customers in the yard whether this be locating product or loading product.
Essential Functions:
- The Yard Associate will help customers who seek information or require assistance loading or offloading merchandise.
- Load and offload delivery vehicles as and when directed by the Yard Supervisor or Fleet and DIspatch Supervisor.
- Keep the receiving and dispatch areas clean, tidy, and safe.
- Move merchandise from receiving bays to designated areas.
- Ensure that safe practices are always followed.
- Ensure that yard equipment is not abused.
- Forewarn the appropriate Manager of impeding stock shortages before they happen.
Job Specifications:
- Potential and desire to be a leader.
- Work co-operatively in an open plan team environment.
- The required qualifications/licensing to operate yard equipment - forklift.
- A willingness and desire to develop skills and knowledge.
- In-depth knowledge of safe yard and vehicle practices.
- Must be alert, able to respond quickly, and appropriately, to various opportunities and seek out positive solutions for customers.
- A strong knowledge of provincial and federal safety regulations, workplace safety and a commitment to always supporting and enforcing workplace safety rules.
