The Manager of Compliance will support the enterprise-wide development and execution of the Compliance program, working towards best-in-class solutions for the organization.
Choice is looking for an individual with entrepreneurial and business-oriented mindset , who is self-driven and possesses the right executive presence and interpersonal skills to proactively engage with stakeholders and senior leadership in risk and compliance discussions. The individual should have significant understanding of governance, risk, and controls.
Support with the development, evolution and execution of the compliance program at Choice
Understand business processes and how to identify and rate the associated risks. Based on the risks identified, be able to review the related internal controls to assess the design and effectiveness of the controls.
Work with regulatory vertical owners to ensure that compliance programs are in place to identify, monitor, report and correct non-compliance with laws, regulations and company policies.
Manage communications relating to compliance across the organization including providing training and education to business teams
Support with the management of the incident management and response program
Monitor developments and emerging regulatory compliance risks to ensure necessary changes are reflected in the day-to-day operations of the associated compliance programs
Work cross-functionally to consolidate compliance training and awareness strategies, implementation plans and initiatives, both internally and externally and develop effective and continuously improving engagement and adherence methods
Develop annual evaluation plans and perform operating effectiveness testing of the compliance programs across business and regulatory areas
Drive initiatives to enhance the quality and value of our service delivery including benchmarking, internal / external research, industry events, thought leadership, relationship building, training & competency development
Undergraduate degree in business or other related discipline such as Juris Doctor, (J.D)., Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or equivalent and/or other regulatory compliance certifications
5+ years of experience in a risk management, audit or compliance related role, ideally with complex, large-scale enterprises
1+ years in a management/ supervisory capacity effectively developing and leading teams
Solid experience in designing, implementing and evaluating risk, audit or compliance programs including an understanding of key components such as mandates, frameworks, and policies and procedures
Strong knowledge of governance, risk and controls, including experience with assessing the design and effectiveness of controls and providing recommendations to improve risk mitigation.
Excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and present to stakeholders at all levels
Proven report writing and presentation skills with attention to detail
Proven problem-solver, with an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset
Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a drive to make an impact
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
