A leading sheet metal enclosure manufacturer in the northeast Edmonton area is seeking an individual to fill a Senior Powder Coat Painter Position for the dayshift. We design and manufacture various metal cabinets with some projects being custom items for clients. Shop safety is the number one priority as we want to foster a safe environment.
We require an individual who can occasionally lift 50 lbs, has attention to detail, can follow instructions and execute these from daily task lists & work orders. This position consists of running the daily operations of our powder coat paint department and managing a staff of 2 to 4 individuals. The successful applicant must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a management position and powder coating experience.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Most importantly, working in a safe manner, safety shoes or boots and glasses are required in the shop,
- Operate and oversee the paint line within the shop guidelines and specifications,
- Occasional masking of parts prior to hanging on the paint line,
- Inspection of parts prior to hanging & inspection of painted parts (visual and paint thickness) to confirm quality,
- Oversee paint line maintenance days when required,
- Attendance and punctuality are a must,
- Legible handwriting as technicians fill out their own time sheets,
- Review daily work lists, confirming procedures and assuring the paint line is ready and prepared to meet production requirements.
- Supervising the paint line staff & coordinating their duties.
Hours of work:
- Monday to Friday 6:00 A.M. start currently, schedule will change once once orientation is complete to 10:30 start
- 40 hour work week.
Salary/Benefits:
- Wage is dependent on experience and a review after 3 months, benefits starting after 3 months.
Qualifications:
- Experience in powder coat painting is a must,
- Minimum of two years experience in a supervisory role.
