Manager of Logistics
Wage: $65,000 - $70,000 Annual Salary, dependent upon education and experience
Benefits: Paid sick leave, 3 weeks vacation, comprehensive benefits, and 5.5% employer pension match
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, with a rotation of one week in the community and three weeks in Prince George, or as required

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Capital Projects and Logistics, the Manager of Logistics is responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics coordination, purchasing, shipping and receiving activities. This position provides leadership and direction to the Coordinator of Logistics and Purchasing and supervises our truck driver and contract carriers. while ensuring efficient movement, storage, procurement, and distribution of goods and materials across the organization.
Warehouse Operations and Inventory Management
- Lead all warehouse operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and organized receiving, storage, and distribution processes.
- Develop and maintain inventory management systems to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to support operational requirements.
- Implement and maintain warehouse best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Oversee maintenance and security of warehouse facilities, equipment, and assets.
Logistics and Distribution
- Plan and coordinate transportation, shipping, receiving, and delivery activities.
- Develop efficient logistics strategies to support organizational operations and projects.
- Monitor performance of freight carriers, suppliers, and service providers.
- Resolve logistical issues and disruptions while minimizing operational impact.
- Analyze logistics data and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Purchasing and Procurement Oversight
- Supervise and support the Coordinator of Logistics and Purchasing.
- Oversee purchasing processes, ensuring compliance with organizational procurement policies.
- Review and approve purchasing requests, purchase orders, and supplier transactions within delegated authority.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Assist in sourcing goods, materials, equipment, and services that provide best value to the organization.
- Monitor supplier performance and support contract administration activities.
Leadership and Administration
- Provide leadership, coaching, scheduling, performance management, and professional development to the Coordinator of Logistics and Purchasing, carriers and all staff.
- Develop work plans, goals, and priorities for logistics and warehouse operations.
- Liaise with the Director of Capital Projects and Logistics on operational priorities, resource requirements, risk mitigation, and escalated issues to ensure timely support and informed decision-making.
- Prepare and maintain operational and inventory reports for management.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to logistics, warehousing, and procurement functions.
- Support organizational initiatives, capital projects, and operational planning activities.
- Participate in policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in logistics, operations management, or warehouse management
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and warehousing
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience
- Strong negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with suppliers, vendors, contractors, and service providers
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search, and reference checks
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License, clear Driver’s Abstract, and willingness to travel within Kwadacha
