Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in an adult residential facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the well-being and independence of clients, especially those with disabilities, dementia, or requiring senior care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalized support and caregiving.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration and monitor health conditions as directed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Perform light cleaning and housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Support patients with mobility challenges through safe transfer techniques and heavy lifting when required
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams and family members
- Assist with transportation to appointments or outings as needed
- Follow all safety protocols, including infection control procedures and emergency response plans
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care practices, dementia care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Experience with caregiving tasks such as meal preparation, medication administration, and proper facility cleaning is beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support is essential
- Certification in caregiving or related fields is a plus but not required; experience is necessary. Formal Training will be required
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience are vital for success in this role
Pay: From $19.67 per hour
