Perform a variety of mechanical duties to truck and trailer units including diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair, as well as regularly scheduled preventative maintenance.
Have a safety mindset and willing to comply to the standards and procedures of Lafarge Safety Policies
Experience with Mack and Internationals would be an asset
A valid G Driver’s License with a clean abstract, Class AZ or DZ Drivers License an asset
Must possess own Hand Tools and Tool Box.
Ready mix experience with London and McNelius mixers an asset
Welding and Hydraulic systems experience and asset
Must have good written and oral communication skills
Fleet Experience Preferred
Computer knowledge, creating work orders, utilizing email, is considered an asset
Previous fleet management experience an asset
Must be organized and willing to exhibit good housekeeping practices in the Lafarge shop
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Perform inspections, diagnostic tests, troubleshooting and general vehicle repair
Perform preventative maintenance services and maintenance related work as required
Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment
Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns
Work in compliance with Company Health and Safety policies and OHSA standard
Keep neat and organized records of services and work in process
Grade 12 or GED equivalent
310 Truck and Coach Technician
5 years of heavy industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
Demonstrated mechanical ability
Demonstrated computer literacy
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Communicate effectively with fellow workers and supervisors, ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
The incumbent will be able to demonstrate the following characteristics:
Hold a valid Industrial or Construction Millwright Trades Ticket, or Technical Degree.
Hold a valid Driver’s License
Have previous experience with predictive maintenance tools such vibration analysis, non-destructive testing, etc. (is an asset)
Experience with Computerized Mechanical Maintenance System (CMMS).
Communications – Oral and Written.
