SUMMARY
The Production Coordinator is responsible for supporting all production activities in collaboration with Program Management and the Production Supervisors to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction and delivery performance. This is a hands-on role that facilitates the development of production schedules and inventory plans in coordination with the Planner and Program Management team to ensure alignment with company objectives. The position requires close collaboration with Production, Program Management, Engineering, Planning, and other supporting departments as needed. This position reports directly to the Production/Test Supervisor.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Coordinate production activities for multiple products.
- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delays.
- Identify production bottlenecks and work with Supervisors to prioritize critical programs.
- Monitor and review production plans regularly to ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance for customer builds.
- Work and communicate with various cells to develop and maintain a weekly production schedule.
- Communicate any lead time issues or potential production risks to the immediate Supervisor and Program Management.
- Ensure that aged WIP for products does not accumulate; initiate immediate action for scrap transactions when required.
- Collaborate closely with the production floor to maintain workflow efficiency and proper documentation.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives related to production.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and dotted-line responsibilities to Program Management.
- All other responsibilities as assigned by Production Supervisors.
SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate or Diploma in a Business-related or Manufacturing field.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge or certification is an asset.
- APICS or other scheduling/planning certifications are considered an advantage.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, matrixed environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to address issues promptly, effectively, and with a sense of urgency.
- Critical thinking and sound judgment to solve complex operational and scheduling problems.
- Knowledge of MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) systems is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Strong command of the English language (written, spoken, and verbal).
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow management.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve production and customer objectives.
HOURS OF WORK, LOCATION, SCHEDULE
- This position’s normal hours of work is from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm ET.
- This role will be 100% on-site at the Markham, Ontario Canada facilities (Building A- 195 Royal Crest Court and/or Building B – 3930 14th Avenue locations) as business needs dictate.
