Job Title: Domestic Team Owner Operator (AZ License) – Long Haul (Western Canada)Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Team Owner Operators to transport freight across Canada, with consistent long-haul routes to British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. This opportunity is ideal for professional drivers who operate their own trucks and want steady, high-mileage work while managing their own business operations.
Drivers must operate a 2023–2026 model truck and be comfortable with team driving and mountain/winter conditions. Both drivers must have a minimum of 3 years of experience operating as a team to Western Canada, including winter driving.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport freight across Canada
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and trip documentation
- Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding schedules and updates
- Handle loading/unloading when required (including forklift or equipment use if needed)
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and coordinate repairs
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures
- Ensure timely delivery and completion of return loads
Requirements
- Valid AZ Driver’s License
- Minimum 3+ years of team driving experience to Western Canada (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan)
- Proven experience with mountain and winter driving conditions
- Must operate a 2023–2026 truck
- Strong knowledge of freight transportation and logistics
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Ability to work efficiently as a team driver on long-haul routes
Owner Operator Requirements
Must provide:
- Own truck, plates, and insurance
- IFTA registration and fuel management
- Own authorities (if applicable)
- Access to a mechanic for maintenance and repairs
Responsible for:
- Fuel costs, maintenance, and repairs
- Compliance documentation and record-keeping
Compensation & Pay Structure
Current Rate:
- $2.43 per mile (team rate) based on today’s fuel pricing
Rate Breakdown:
- Base Rate: $1.95 per mile
- Fuel Surcharge (FSC): (National Average Fuel Price – $1.40) × 0.30
Example (based on current fuel price):
- FSC ≈ $0.48
- Total Rate = $1.95 + $0.48 = $2.43 per mile
Note:
- The Fuel Surcharge is variable and will adjust based on the national average fuel price
Payment Details:
- Paid using PC Miler for mileage calculation
- Weekly payments (every 7 days)
Additional Pay
- Layover Pay: $150 (if delay is caused by the company)
- Wait Time: $75/hour after the first 2 hours (on live loads)
- Stops: $50 per stop after the first 2 stops
Typical Mileage (Round Trip Estimates)
- Toronto ↔ British Columbia: ~6,000 miles
- Toronto ↔ Alberta: ~4,100 miles
- Toronto ↔ Saskatchewan: ~3,600 miles
