Kids U is passionate about moving practice forward through strong professional development, and as such, provides regular, in-house professional development courses in Education programs and practices.
We are currently hiring for the position of Physical Education Teacher for our McKnight location.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
Encourage children through role modeling and guidance to respect themselves and others
Spark imagination, build self-esteem and encourage children to enrich their everyday experiences using the environment as the third teacher
Educate children on loco-motor, object manipulation and stability through games and activities.
Ensure that classroom practices meet Alberta Childcare Licensing and Accreditation Standards
Provide an educational, caring and safe environment
Utilize effective communication and strong organizational skills
Assist children with self-help skills, including toileting and diapering.
Requirements:
Displays Interest in Physical activity experience playing / participating in Sports and/or fitness.
Early Childhood Education or relevant experience including camp counselors, coaching, etc
Ability to manage, supervise and interact with large groups of children.
Physical labor, including lifting + moving heavy objects as week as cleaning is a daily requirement (Such as folding tables and mesh cots)
Willingness to learn or experience with basic care of children (feeding, diapering, sleeping)
Knowledge and understand of children's gross motor games and activities.

Ability to lift a min. of 40 lbs especially when working with infants and toddlers
Must have:
Child Care certifications (Minimum Level 1)
1 year experience with Preschoolers/Toddlers
Valid First Aid Certifications
Valid Police Clearance
