Position Summary
Kerkhoff Engineering Ltd. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Cycle Bookkeeper to join our team in Chilliwack, BC. This is a part-time, in-office position requiring approximately 2-3 days per week, making it an ideal opportunity for a highly-skilled accounting professional seeking flexibility and stable long-term employment. There is potential for the role to expand into a full-time position depending on future business needs.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full-cycle of bookkeeping and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company’s day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. This position is best suited to an intermediate to senior level bookkeeper who is confident working independently, takes ownership of their work, and can manage the full accounting cycle with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will bring a professional and proactive approach, strong technical bookkeeping expertise, and a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary certificate or diploma in accounting, bookkeeping or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, preferably within a small business environment
- Strong proficiency with Sage 50 accounting software and MS Excel
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
- Proven experience managing payroll processes
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full cycle bookkeeping and day-to-day accounting functions
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, ensuring all entries are accurate and up to date
- Prepare and file GST returns and other required remittances, including EHT and WCB reporting
- Track employee time, expenses, and related records
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management review
- Collaborate with external accountants and prepare supporting documentation as required
- Complete bank deposits
- Assist with budgeting processes
- Maintain organized, accurate, and compliant financial records
- Provide light clerical and general office support as needed
Compensation:
- $32 - $36 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
