Simpson's Num-Ti-Jah Lodge is seeking hard-working, independent candidates to fill the position of Sous Chef on a seasonal basis, immediately to mid-October. Experience is required.
Assists the Chef in planning and preparation, directing food operations and cooking activities, preparing and cooking meals and specialty foods to set us apart. The suitable candidate would be proficient at multi-tasking, possess strong people skills, experience at knifing, and a willingness to teach and be taught. Supporting a team atmosphere of effective and efficient mentorship of all kitchen staff, in coordination with all Lodge staff the Sous Chef would contribute to the positive atmosphere and an orderly operation of the kitchen; it’s overall, cleanliness, professionalism, attention to detail, creativity and quality.
- Interprovincial Red Seal (Desired)
- Serve Safe Certificate
- WHMIS training
- A minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Team player, willing to help out on any level
- Must be organized and be able to handle pressure
- Good attention to detail plus the ability to quickly identify and resolve problems
- Should be knowledgeable about ingredients and their combination
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The lodge is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
Compensation: Salary, payable every month
Anticipated Start Date: Immediately
Anticipated End Date: October 16th, 2019
Hours: Evenings, Days, Weekends-Flexibility Essential, position may require extended work periods and hours.

We are seeking a hard-working, independent and experienced individual to fill the position of Sous Chef for the duration of the 2019 summer season. The hire for this position shall always striving to improve the overall operation and providing exceptional quality and service to each guest every time, while maintaining a professional and positive culture.
