Position Overview
The successful candidate will have experience managing employment law files independently and will be comfortable advising clients, conducting legal research, drafting documents, negotiating resolutions, and supporting litigation matters where required.
This role is ideal for a lawyer who is confident working directly with clients and wants to continue building their expertise in employment law.
Key Responsibilities
Independently manage employment law files from intake through resolution
Provide legal advice on employment-related matters involving employees and employers
Draft and review employment agreements, termination packages, workplace policies, and legal correspondence
Handle wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, workplace disputes, and related claims
Conduct legal research and prepare written opinions and client communications
Negotiate settlements and resolutions with opposing counsel
Prepare pleadings, motions, mediation materials, and litigation documents as required
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
Maintain organized files and manage deadlines efficiently
Qualifications & Experience
Licensed and in good standing with the relevant provincial law society
Approximately 2-3 years of employment law experience
Experience independently handling legal files and managing client matters
Strong understanding of employment law principles and applicable legislation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
