Duties
- Safely operate heavy trucks to transport goods between locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Routes include Windsor-Essex Area and Day trips to the Greater Toronto Area
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Load and unload cargo, utilizing proper lifting techniques to handle heavy items efficiently
- Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries, adjusting as needed for traffic or weather conditions
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules
- Follow all safety protocols during loading, unloading, and driving operations to prevent accidents or injuries
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (D or AZ)
- Electronic logging required (Training Provided)
- Proven experience in driving large trucks or similar vehicles
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and route planning techniques
- Excellent communication skills and a dependable work ethic
- Ability to stay alert during long hours on the road and handle unexpected situations professionally
