We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Vendor Fraud Prevention Specialist at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON

As a detail-orientated and customer focused AP Vendor Fraud Prevention Specialist, you will be responsible for the verification of all bank accounts provided by vendors for facilitations of payments, maintenance of the trusted contact database, post-audit of vendor information paperwork, overall vendor master records review and maintenance, in accordance with the corporate procedures and policies for Volkswagen Group Canada and Volkswagen Group of America. These policies cover employees under all entities including Audi Canada, Volkswagen Credit Canada Inc., Electrify Canada, Audi of America, Bentley Motors Inc., Volkswagen Credit Inc., Electrify America, Automobili Lamborghini, and Chattanooga Operations.

Reporting into the Manager, Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for fraud prevention documentation, protocols for reporting fraud, and training new employees.

Primary Responsibilities:
Complete a post audit of the vendor information paperwork to ensure accuracy and completeness

Prepare and complete direct verification of banking details for all new vendors and any vendor who have requested bank changes

Collaborate with Treasury, Purchasing, and Security & Compliance to be current on threat landscape, training materials and best practices.

Update and maintain trusted vendor contact database
Schedule and complete reviews of the vendor master database based on multiple criteria for all companies, and document all changes and actions taken

Review any failed payments and contact vendors to obtain updated documentation and complete verifications.

Prepare fraud prevention documentation and train all new accounting employees through onboarding

Ensure that all templates, desk procedures, and process documentation is prepared, tested and maintained

Track and report on all relevant metrics on fraud attempts, vendor compliance, and KPI’s.

Provide all audit samples and report analysis related to vendor master information for all companies.

Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement, thus always striving for automated, error free and efficiency process

Support and back up other AP functions as required.

Qualifications

What we’re asking for:
Accounting Degree or Technical Diploma
A great attitude and proven ability to be an effective business partner, team player, and collaborator
3+ years of administrative experience in a professional office environment.
Working towards an accounting designation will be an asset
Excellent customer service skills - ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person, over the phone and via email.
Excellent attention to detail - ability to challenge and question if information does not appear correct.
Positive attitude and able to work effectively within a high-paced team
Excellent communication and presentation skills; written and verbal
Proven track record in attention to detail , ability to prioritize and time management skills while working with large volumes.
Focus on process optimization and improvement
Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Working knowledge of SAP would be an asset
