Based out of the Acheson Shop, the Parts Assistant is responsible for operating the Parts Truck to collect various stock items, parts and materials from vendors across the Greater Edmonton Region in a time effective manner. Responsibilities also include organizing stock, inventory counts, cleaning the parts room, yard and shop as required. This roll will have shared tasks from the parts room and the shop. This role regularly interacts with vendors and therefore requires the ability to foster good working relationships.

Operate Parts truck to pick up and deliver parts, materials, equipment and supplies.

Utilize proper load securement techniques

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and vendors.

Distribute parts to Equipment Technicians as needed.

Received orders at the Parts Department office and put away stock as required.

Maintain cleanliness of the Parts Truck, Parts Department, Shop and Yard.

Assist Parts Person in inventory counts.

Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures or email communications on current processes or process changes when applicable.

Other duties as required.

Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Exhibit exceptional work ethic, reliability and attention to detail.

General knowledge of parts and terminology.

Manually load and unload parts

Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks according to on-going work demands.

Ability to drive safely in various road conditions. Winter driving required

Valid Class 5 driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and pre-employment drug, alcohol, and medical testing.

Position will primarily work in the Parts Department but is shared roll with the Shop as well.

Working outside will be required at times
-
Extended periods of driving with regular stops.

Overtime as needed.

Lifting or moving up to 50lbs will be required.

High School Diploma required.
-
Previous experience with JDE would be considered an asset.
